Upcoming Osaka Pro lineups and schedules - 5/12/08 by Andy
Osaka Pro have released their weekend lineups, with Sekigun battling Blood & Gutsy on both days. The June schedule was also released with main points of interest being the 4th installment of Tigers Mask's Kyoto Vaudeville at the Kyoto KBS Hall, as well as the Osaka Tag Festival kicking off on the 14th. 5 shows are scheduled for the Tag Festival, with the finals to be held at Matsushita IMP Hall. This may indicate that the tournament will revert back to a single elimination format as opposed to last year's league format.

A new chapter of Osaka Pro-Wrestling was started today as it was the first show after the Okinawa excursion. Sekigun was at a disadvantage after Tigers was viciously taken out early on. Buffalo & Cooger tried to fight bravely, but the odds were too much in the end. After the main event, Masamune declared that the three former Bad Force members would be the center of Osaka, but Kotoge stated that he would go on his own path. Hideyoshi told Kotoge to go forward if that was the path he wanted, but said that he & Masamune would control Osaka.
Meanwhile, Mecha Mummy made his presence felt by knocking out both Kuishinbo and Ebessan in the second match. This led to Kanjyuro coming out and their scheduled match began. However, Mecha Mummy was too strong in the end and beat Kanjyuro in less than 4 minutes. The challenge for Kanjyuro's belt was then made.
Our friend Sebastien attended the show and sent some notes, along with some pictures that will eventually be uploaded here. Buffalo is back to wearing the "Osaka" jersey, with #37 returning. He also wears a new version of his mask, but takes it off after introductions. Sebastien also sent pictures of the two rookies, which hopefully will be used for their profiles in the future.

The theme of today's special show was "Stop the Bullying." There was a special wrestling classroom before intermission, held by Black Buffalo & Takoyakida. Bad Force came out and started to bully Buffalo around, including GAINA taking Buffalo's trademark bat and not giving it back. This led to Tigers Mask coming out to even the odds and setting up the main event. Buffalo would get his revenge by getting the win and tearfully saying that the bullying was defeated.

More news on Okinawa Pro-Wrestling - 5/3/08 by Andy
Super Delfin appeared on the 5/1 episode of "Indie no Oshigoto" to promote the upcoming Okinawa Pro-Wrestling. Delfin once more reiterated that this venture was there to help and also to capitalise on the tourism in the Okinawa region. Delfin said that while Okinawa does have local attractions for visitors, there isn't anything at night and he hopes that Okinawa Pro-Wrestling can help fill that void. Delfin also hopes that people won't have to resort to the snake vs. mongoose fights for entertainment and instead can be entertained with professional wrestling.
When asked about Osaka Pro, Delfin said he hopes to be able to return there at least once a month for a weekend show. Delfin somewhat addressed the title situation in Okinawa Pro-Wrestling, saying that seeing as Zero and GAINA hold the Osaka Pro-Wrestling Tag Titles and Condor holds the MWF World Junior Heavyweight Title, they could easily be used for Okinawa Pro. Perhaps this year's Tag Festival could be used to crown new champions with a new title?
Kanyjuro Matsuyama Contract News - 5/1/08 by John
Kanjyuro Matsuyama announced on his blog yesterday that he has signed a contract with
Osaka Pro-Wrestling. Kanjyuro first started to appear in Osaka last year, but was freelance under
the Toryumon Mexico banner. In the blog entry, he thanked Ultimo Dragon for everything and asked
fans to support him in the future. Kanjyuro also explained the new Osaka Owari Title, saying that
anybody in Japan would be welcome to challenge for it.
This marks the second wrestler who has posted contract negotiation details on his blog. The first
was Asian Cooger, who signed on for another year a few weeks ago.

Osaka June sky-A Schedule, B&G in Wakamusha - 5/1/08 by John
The May show that will be taped for sky-A television will be 5/31, which is Saturday Night Story. It's a
bit surprising, considering how big 5/6 and 5/10 are shaping up to be. Nonetheless, it'll air in an hour
and a half slot on 6/15. The encores will be on 6/22 and 6/29.
Meanwhile, Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke were both winners at the Wakamusha event yesterday. Tadasuke
teamed up with Masashi Takeda to defeat Keita Yano & Hiroshi Kosaka. Harada picked up the direct win in
the tag team main event as he & Yukihiro Abe beat Yusaku Obata & Yoshiyazu Shimizu.

4/29 IMP Hall Pictures - 4/30/08 by John
[Results] Osaka Pro-Wrestling, 4/29/08 by Andy
The fans of Osaka crammed into the Matsushita IMP Hall to get possibly a final opportunity to see the Delfin Gundan all together. The fans cheered loudly for the Delfin Gundan reformation as well as Zero's return to Super Demekin for one night only. The old master and apprentice, Delfin and Demekin, started off the match with an intense and fast paced action that the hall went wild for. Yone, Naniwa, Kuishinbo and Ebessan charmed the crowd with their comedy before TAKA, Shinzaki, Tigers and GAINA brought an intense back and forth exchange to the match. Delfin finished off this special match with his classic Swing DDT-Delfin Clutch combination on Kuishinbo.
In the semi final Osaka's own power fighter Zeus looked to test the limits of his strength against Akebono. Zeus tried with tackles to knock Akebono off his feet and even attempted a backbreaker but the 100kg difference was too much. Zeus took the match outside the ring and with the aid of a chair was able to sufficently weaken 'bono enough to knock the big man down after piggy backing him! Zeus tried to keep Akebono on the mat with two diving body presses but it wasn't enough and in the end it was a body press that was to put Zeus away. Zeus praised Akebono's strength after the match.
Kanjyuro Matsuyama was successful in capturing his first title in Osaka Pro today, beating Miracleman for the Osaka Meibutsu Sekaiichi Title that was mysteriously blown up on the weekend. Kanjyuro effectively sealed the title after his victory and said that as he is an Owari (comedy) wrestler that he would now be the first Osaka Owari Champion, a title that will be able to be challenged by anybody. Suddenly the 'criminal' who destroyed the Sekaiichi Title appeared and was none other than Mecha Mummy! Mecha Mummy proceeded to the ring and cleared Miracle and Kanjyuro from it. After some provocation Kanjyuro appealed for a confrontation with Mecha Mummy on the 5/10 show.
TAJIRI and KUSHIDA from Hustle appeared during intermission. TAJIRI proposed to Osaka Pro-Wrestling Chairman Sakagami for KUSHIDA to participate in Osaka Pro. Sakagami accepted TAJIRI's proposal and KUSHIDA will make his debut appear in Osaka Pro on 5/10.
